Kiwanis Charities
The Power of One One act of kindness, one word of encouragement, one influential moment can change the course of a child's life and, exponentially, every life that child will touch. The founding members of Kiwanis were an impassioned group, whose passion lives on today. The principle core of the Kiwanis mission is based on the belief that the most effective way to enhance a community is to enhance its children. In essence, when you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream and succeed, great things can -and do- happen. Kiwanians are men and women who come from all walks of life, backgrounds, cultures, and countries, and are represented on every continent of the world. The only thing that is more impressive than its diversity of its membership is the unity of its mission: to serve the children of the world. One hour of volunteer time can create a lifetime of opportunities for a child. So imagine what is possible when each year Kiwanis clubs invest more than 7 million hours in volunteer time, through thousands of service projects that generate hundreds of millions of dollars! The efforts of Kiwanians support a variety of causes, including literacy, leadership, wellness, and many other special needs of children. The Kiwanis Charities of Santa Monica, Inc.,501(c)(3), was established to receive tax-deductible gifts and bequests from club and community members, businesses, and organizations. The sum of this fund gives Kiwanis Club of Santa Monica the ability to make a positive impact for change on the Westside.
